Unveiling the Reworked 2025 Suzuki Jimny: An Off-Road Masterpiece
Although the 2025 Suzuki Jimny isn’t an entirely new model, it’s a revamped version of the 2018 fourth-generation Jimny. Earlier this year, Suzuki introduced a mid-cycle upgrade known as the 5-door Nomade/Sierra in the Japanese market. This review focuses on the Australian Jimny Version, which made its debut in Australia on December 5, 2023, featuring a 5-door design known as the “Jimny XL”.
During the late months of 2023 and early 2024, the Jimny was released in various markets including South Africa (November 2023), New Zealand (January 2024), and Malaysia (July 2024). Stay tuned for our next review where we delve into the Japanese Version “Suzuki Jimny Nomade”, which boasts similar features but varies in trim levels. But for now, let’s explore everything about the 2023/2025 Suzuki Jimny – from its exterior and interior to its power performance and pricing.
Exterior and Design
One look at the 2025 Suzuki Jimny’s exterior design, and you’ll notice that everything has been upgraded and evolved to perfection. Maintaining its iconic 5-slot front grill with chrome accent and a round headlamp, the Jimny also features a flat, square-shaped bonnet for a full view of the vehicle on uneven terrain. It’s fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels with a dark grey metallic finish, and the flared wheel Arch moulding and side sill splash guards prevent gravel and mud from damaging the body.
Interior and Cargo
The Jimny’s cabin is spacious, comfortably seating four adults. The seats are thickly cushioned and covered with cloth upholstery, ensuring comfortable travel. The front dashboard is crafted from durable hard plastic, ideal for off-road adventures. Certain models, like the GLX, feature steering wheels wrapped with leather for improved comfort and grip.
Cargo
When it comes to storage, the Jimny offers ample space behind the back seats, about 211L, sufficient for 4 to 5 carry-on suitcases. When the seats are folded, the space expands to about 377L, accommodating 7 to 9 carry-on suitcases. The cargo area features a side-mounted lamp for illumination and a convenient 12-volt socket for powering accessories while camping.
Infotainment
The 2025 Jimny comes equipped with a 9-inch infotainment display on the Suzuki Jimmy GLX model, while the GL model features a 7-inch display. The system provides crucial information to the driver, including a live feed from the rearview camera. It includes features like Bluetooth control for music playback and hands-free calling, subscription-based Wi-Fi, and USB connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the 2025 Jimny houses a 1.5 petrol engine that generates 100 hp at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It’s available with either a 4-speed Automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual, and the driven wheels are 4WD, perfect for handling all types of terrain. The suspension system features a 3-link design with rigid front and rear axles and heavy-duty coil springs on all four wheels, providing excellent road grip and traction.
Pricing of the 2025 Suzuki Jimny
Prices for the 2025 Jimny start at $30,490 and can go up to $38,490 depending on the trim and options. The various trim levels include LITE, GL Lite, GLX, Base, XL, and XL Heritage, each offering unique specifications and features.
